Clay is an incredibly versatile medium, with a seemingly endless amount of techniques to learn. This class will introduce you to building with clay by constructing a set of mugs from start to finish, where you will be taught basic hand building techniques that can then be applied to any other project.
Schedule:
- On day One we’ll cover wedging, rolling slabs, making attachments, and adding decoration in order to create finished mugs. (class could finish any time between 8 and 9 PM)
- On day Two you’ll receive your fired pots and learn how to glaze them. At the end of class, all mugs will be ready for their second and final kiln firing which will be available for pickup during the next week! Everybody will get their hands dirty and go home with a unique set of handcrafted mugs. Students can trickle out as they finish
