About Red Mountain MakersRed Mountain Makers is the Birmingham area's non profit makerspace! We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, membership based organization run by volunteers. Our workspace provides affordable access to the tools, equipment, knowledge, and skills you need to make your ideas real. We're here for artisans, artists, hobbyists, tinkerers, entrepreneurs, and DIYers. Our 7800 square foot physical space include a dedicated Metals shop, Woodshop, Sewing & Classroom, and Electronics lab and has a variety of equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, soldering irons, wood and metal working tools, and sewing machines. Maker Level Membership gets you access to all of these tools during open hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays 7-9pm, Saturdays 2-6pm, and Sunday 4-7pm. Keyholder Members have access 24/7! The space also has 9 dedicated private, secure studios available for rent by makers or businesses, Four 200 sq ft rooms and five 100 sq ft rooms). Red Mountain Makers hosts amazing classes in a broad variety of disciplines taught by experts in their fields. You DO NOT have to be a member to take a class at Red Mountain Makers, but members do get a 10% discount on all classes. We are conveniently located in downtown Birmingham at Hardware Park, a thriving hub of engineering, innovation, product development and manufacturing, just across I-65 from the Innovation District and less than a mile from Railroad Park. Our official address is 810 4th Avenue North, but our parking entrance is at 807 5th Avenue North. Just take 6th Street North to 5th Avenue North, head one block west and enter the large chain link gate with our signs on it. Continue back towards 4th Avenue, park in the gravel lot, and ring the bell if the door isn't open! |
