Red Mountain Makers is the Birmingham area's non profit makerspace!

We are a volunteer-run, membership based workspace that provides affordable access to the tools, equipment, knowledge, and skills you need to create and make your ideas real. We're here for artisans, artists, hobbyists, tinkerers, entrepreneurs, and DIYers and have a variety of equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, soldering irons, wood and metal working tools, and sewing machines. Sign up for a class to learn a skill from one our industry expert instructors or become a member to get access to all of our tools and knowledge!

Maker Level Membership gets you access to the space during open hours:

Join us on April 21st for a special event, our first ever Market Day. This event will showcase the creativity and talent of local makers with unique and handmade products or services. We'll also be hosting an Open House throughout the space with demonstrations from our makers and instructors!

GETTING HERE

We're conveniently located in downtown Birmingham just across I-65 from the Innovation District and less than a mile from Railroad Park. Our official address is 810 4th Avenue North, but our parking entrance is at 807 5th Avenue North.

Just take 6th Street North to 5th Avenue North, head one block west and enter the large chain link gate with our signs on it. Continue back towards 4th Avenue, park in the gravel lot, and ring the bell if the door isn't open!

Our Mission is to provide a collaborative environment that promotes discovery, creativity, and exploration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics)

What We Offer:

7800 square feet of Makerspace including a dedicated Metals shop, Woodshop, Sewing & Classroom, and Electronics lab
9 dedicated rental studios for makers or businesses ( Four 200 sq ft rooms and five 100 sq ft rooms) APPLY HERE
High-end / specialized tools like laser cutters, 3D printers, welders, industrial sewing machines, table saw, wood and metal lathes, forge & anvils, and more
A community of 70+ makers
Lounge area (includes a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster oven)
Dedicated gated parking + 2 loading docks
Amazing classes in a broad variety of disciplines (10% discount on all classes taught at RMM for all members)
Access to Hardware Park's thriving hub of engineering, innovation, product development and manufacturing
